What's new in CA ERwin Data Modeler r9

• Time-based embedded maintenance licensing - lets you use CA ERwin Data Modeler for a specific period. This means, if there are any new releases in the specified period, you can upgrade to it. When the license expires, you have to buy a new licence to upgrade. The time-based licence is coupled with Local and Concurrent licences.
• Borrow a licence - the Mobile licensing feature enables you to borrow a license from a License Server on any mobile device that supports CA ERwin DM.
• Mart architecture - now, CA ERwin Data Modeler connects to the Mart server through a web server - benefits of this approach include active directory authentication and Mart administration outside CA ERwin Data Modeler.
• Work offline or detach models - CA ERwin DM Version 9 lets you save a Mart model offline or detach a model from Mart.
• Manage sessions - manage your sessions either from CA ERwin DM version 9 or from CA ERwin Mart Administrator.
• Manage catalogs - manages libraries, data models, templates, and versions.
• Redesigned naming standards tool - Naming Standards Editor, which is renamed as NSM Option Editor, is now an ERwin object and is accessed from the Model Explorer.
• Redesigned data type standards - Datatype Standards Editor, which is renamed as DSM Option Editor, is designed as an ERwin object and is accessed from the Model Explorer.

Standard Edition

Navigator Edition

CA ERwin Data Modeler Navigator Edition (NE) is a read-only version of the Workgroup Edition product for secure sharing of detailed modeling assets with a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation. The ability to permit others to visualise and analyse the details of model metadata is critical to successful collaboration of diverse project teams.

Workgroup Edition

CA ERwin Data Modeler Workgroup Edition (WE) is designed for collaborative modeling for teams of data modelers. CA ERwin Data Modeler WE provides conflict resolution, versioning, security and standardisation for multi-user modeling. Through a central model repository, model assets can be inventoried and re-used across the organisation.

Community Edition

CA ERwin Data Modeler CE It is a great way for students and those new to modeling to get started with an industry-leading data modeling tool.
