ActiveAnalysis 2 (formerly Data Dynamics Analysis) is a complete OLAP, data visualization, and business intelligence component for Silverlight, Windows Forms, and ASP.NET. Rapidly embed interactive, ad hoc business intelligence features for both the desktop and the web. Major new features include:

• Reference external assemblies to extend library functions

  ActiveAnalysis can now reference external assemblies. This enables developers to work with sophisticated queries and calculations by using their own library functions.

• Customize the context menu of the pivot grid

  Now developers can determine what part of the pivot grid a user is pointing to and customize the context menu accordingly. They can disable it or show their own context menu control and use actions from the default context menu.

• Automatically validates expressions

  Now, when you create a schema using the Schema Editor, ActiveAnalysis lets you know when you enter an invalid expression, and provides useful information when there is an error with the function and its parameters.

• Choose which pages to print or export

  Users can now choose which pages they would like to print when the PivotView has multiple pages. They can choose whether to print all pages, the current page, or a range of pages.

• Use DistinctSum and AggregateIf with Calculated functions

  Developers now have the ability to create complex expressions by using multi-parameter aggregate functions DistinctSum and AggregateIf in expressions for measures, with calculated aggregate functions.

• Show and hide cubes in the cubes list in Silverlight

  Developers working with the Silverlight PivotView now have an easy way to restrict accessibility to cubes for their users.

• Get underlying data in Silverlight

  ActiveAnalysis now provides the ability to retrieve underlying data for developers working with the Silverlight PivotView.
