SugarSync users can work remotely through a web browser, even if your computer has no client installed, and keep your changes synced. All you have to do is choose the WebSync option when you click a file in your account. When you’re done editing, SugarSync syncs all changes with your devices. SugarSync also allows you to sync. It can even sync to offline computers. Once those computers come online, the edits you made will sync automatically. Photos on your computer and those you take with your camera phone can be synced back and forth between the computer and the phone. SugarSync also organizes your photos into albums. Every file is transferred securely using SLL and store in an encrypted format using 128-bit AES.
As a backup utility, SugarSync performs well. You can store individual folders online or you can arrange to have SugarSync update selected folders. When you configure SugarSync, your files will get continuously backed up to your SugarSync website. If your hard drive crashes or your computer gets stolen, you can easily recover your files. SugarSync archives the previous five versions of your files without user intervention. You can access these versions from any computer, web browser or mobile phone.
SugarSync has top-notch file sharing features too. You can generate links to any of your files that you can post on the internet or email to your friends. Your links’ recipients will be able to download your files directly without having to register with SugarSync. The size of the file you link doesn’t matter either. There’s also a link in each folder that allows you to share your files. SugarSync keeps track of the changes, making sure you stay on top of your files.
Unlike programs you purchase, SugarSync charges monthly or yearly fees. Fees vary depending on the amount of data you transfer. SugarSync plans support 30, 60, 100 and 250 GB with each plan offering 3,000 to 25,000 documents, 6,000 to 40,000 photos and 6,000 to 30,000 songs.
