Telerik Test Studio is a powerful testing solution covering all your software testing needs. Take advantage of functional testing and test HTML5, AJAX, Silverlight and WPF apps, JavaScript calls, Telerik controls, client-side behaviours and more. Run functional tests as performance tests and gather data on server processing time, network latency and client rendering time. Test Studio comes with a standalone app and a Visual Studio plug-in that use the same repositories and file formats providing a common platform for developers and testers to work together.
Functional Testing
Build automated tests for your apps regardless of their underlying technology, complexity or interactivity. Test Studio supports all the latest technologies - HTML5, XAML, AJAX, MVC, Java, Cold Fusion, Ruby and PHP!
HTML testing
Testing web applications proves to be much more difficult than testing the same functionality in a Windows Desktop app. One can expect to encounter timing issues, browsers incompatibilities, and a stack of new HTML5 handlers that make web browsing a rich, but difficult-to-test, experience. Fortunately Telerik has channelled its excellence in web technologies and leadership in UI component development in its automated software testing tool – Test Studio, to assist users in automating even the most complex web testing scenarios.
AJAX testing
Testing AJAX is no longer painful thanks to Telerik Test Studio. This automated testing tool employs a rich set of features to help you automate AJAX-intense web content. You can test complex UI actions like drag-and-drop, invoke JavaScript functions from your test code, and perform logging actions. What’s more, the test recorder makes it easy to wait on AJAX operations before executing specific verification.
Silverlight testing
A pioneer in Silverlight UI components development, Telerik has amassed solid expertise in Silverlight which now transcends in the field of Silverlight test automation. Telerik Test Studio is the first solution on the market to deliver support for Silverlight UI automation and as such has been extensively used internally by Telerik Silverlight product teams in perfecting their UI components.
WPF testing
Building on the potential of the WPF platform and Telerik’s established leadership in presentation layer technologies, Telerik Test Studio naturally expands its expertise to the field of WPF test automation. Telerik automated software testing tool is among the few to deliver rich UI object model that covers the entire range of UI elements in WPF. Test Studio itself has been built with Telerik RadControls for WPF thus strengthening the product team’s profound knowledge of the WPF platform.
Manual Testing
Too often the simple-sounding task of managing large numbers of manual test scripts can be a burden. Many organisations have their test scripts scattered across multiple documents. This quickly becomes cumbersome when trying to track test execution, and reporting metrics around test passes turns into a painful exercise of tallying up results from multiple different sources.
Test Studio enables teams to cut through much of this pain around manual test case management. It’s easy to import test cases stored in Excel into Test Studio. Once those cases are in Test Studio you’re able to easily group those cases in to lists. Tracking results of test list runs is now a snap. No more consolidating stats from multiple Excel sheets!
Bringing your manual tests in to Test Studio also makes it a snap to manage your manual tests in version control.
Exploratory Testing
Exploratory Testing (ET) enables skilled testers to concentrate on testing high-value areas of the system without the constraints of test scripts. ET is explicitly not undisciplined 'poking around the system.' Instead, it’s focused, guided testing sessions where the tester is following a charter that guides testing to a specific feature or area.
Exploratory Testing is receiving more and more attention as testing’s thought leaders write, speak, and train more on it. ET should be a significant part of any team’s approach to their overall quality strategy because it leverages testers’ skills and experience to the utmost.
Load Testing
Test Studio is a load testing tool that enables you to get a better understanding of how your website would perform if visited by a large number of users at the same time, thus helping you assess if your web apps meet business needs for availability and user satisfaction. Test Studio makes it easy for you to get started and find the data you need to help inform your decisions, but also gives you the flexibility and power to create elaborate, complex load scenarios to meet your most demanding needs.
Performance Testing
As you're verifying your application functions properly, you should also simultaneously be measuring how it behaves. Performance metrics supplement your existing functional UI tests to include such data as server processing time, network latency and client rendering time. And when a regression creeps into your system, you get comprehensive info on the exact reasons for the degraded performance.
iOS App Testing
Unlike many mobile application testing solutions out there, Test Studio for iOS won't ask you to jailbreak, unlock or modify your phone or tablet in any way. Just run it on the device or the simulator as is. Out-of-the-box, Test Studio for iOS supports iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch (iOS 4.0+).
Visual Studio plugin
Test Studio ships with a Visual Studio plug-in that helps you generate tests as C# or VB.NET code. Native test types ensure first class test support in Visual Studio 2010 and 2012.
Test Studio
Supports functional web and desktop testing, web performance testing, load testing, manual testing and includes the Visual Studio plug-in.
Portable Machine Licence
Test Studio can be installed on multiple machines as long as it is only activated on one machine at a time (assuming a single licence is purchased). If you need to move the licence to another machine, a simple, one-click deactivation will free-up the licence so it may be activated on another machine. There is no limit to the number of times this process can be performed.
Test Studio run-time
Requires Test Studio licence. Supports test execution only with an unlimited number of users.
Virtual user packs
For load testing - requires Test Studio licence.
