Deep Freeze helps to eliminate workstation damage and downtime by creating a "frozen” snapshot of a workstation’s configuration and settings. Each time you restart your machine, Deep Freeze restores your computer to this original "frozen” state. So once Deep Freeze has been installed on a workstation, changes made to the computer are rendered impermanent. User and application data are re-directed to a thawed (unprotected) partition or drive enabling users to store data while still enjoying total system consistency. IT administrators can create automated update and maintenance periods to enable system and virus definition updates to occur via the Deep Freeze Enterprise Console or using a third-party desktop management solution.

It is available in the following editions:

• Deep Freeze Standard Edition: makes computer configurations indestructible and prevents damage from accidental or malicious workstation changes
• Deep Freeze Enterprise Edition: deploy and manage a workstations on a LAN or MAN network via the Enterprise Console. Perform silent installations, power on using Wake-On-Lan and invoke system maintenance on demand
• Deep Freeze Mac Edition: balance workstation security with user productivity by mapping user and application data to a thawed (unprotected) partition or drive. Flexible scheduling options enable IT administrators to create automated update and maintenance periods. System updates on computers protected by Deep Freeze Mac can be scheduled via Apple Remote Desktop
• Deep Freeze Server Standard Edition: protect Microsoft Windows 2000, 2003 or 2008 Server operating system and software without restricting server functionality. The system is reset to its original state on re-start and is useful for IT environments where server changes do not need to be saved or where data are mapped to a thawed drive
• Deep Freeze Server Enterprise Edition: provides total server protection that can be deployed and managed across a distributed LAN, WAN or over the internet
